This is when members of the public are involved in reporting the news instead of mainstream newspapers. They function outside of mainstream media this is often caused because the person who runs the journalism site feels that mainstream media has let them down. The audience becomes the producer and uses their knowledge of the press to inform their audience.
Sharing
This allows the reader of a news article to share it with people on multiple platforms such as social media. This means that more people read the news article than would have originally. Sharing an article means that it may go viral this is when lots of people keep sending it
Comment section
Having a comment section on a news article means that the audience can get involved and comment what they think about the article. The publisher of the article can see what their audience think about the article.
When lots of people use a hashtag it will be in the worldwide trends list this means that lots more people will read it. This is because when people see something is trending they want to know what it is and why its trending so they click on it. The more people that click it the longer it will stay in the worldwide trends list.
